DHCP setting

What is a DHCP setting? This is a dynamic way to attribute IP address. That means, while you boot your computer, it will ask the DHCP server which send it all necessary informations to run the network. The interest is on mobile computers which need settings accorded to their site.

Setting

Go to the TCP/IP settings, switch off all concern IP, netmask, DNS, gateway, and just select DHCP. Relaunch your network services, the more simple way is to "reboot" your computer. Once your system rebooted, you should have an automatic setting.

All laptop designed to the department (but not guest) have to be recorded, like any computer in order to get an IP address.
